I started this thread to find out info on ENZO Racing Canada in High River. They have a set up for the rear suspension that does what the so call S-36 does. I sent my front shocks and rear shock to be re valved and rebuild. They are gonna send me back a longer middle shock that is valved to my riding style/weight plus the brackets and hardware to mount it in a different spot on the skid. This will correct the sag that 08/09 doo's have.
I'll keep you posted but so far they are cool to deal with.
If anyone else has any experience with this then don't be shy. Fill us in

If you don't already you must understand how the geometry of the sled works, which years had what suspesion changes and what exactly you want the changes to do.

Enzo racing specializes in bike suspension and dables in snowmobile suspension. The revlaving and rebuilding they do is very expensive and there are a few people, some on this forum as well that choose to go with Enzo for revalving. No amount of revalving will cure the Summits suspension issues.

Nothing they do to the rear suspension can replace what the S-36 does. It can't and won't. The S-36 package is a suspension/control package from Ski-doo. It is a narrow stance a-arm replacement that makes the ski stance 36" wide. 4" narrower than stock configuration on 2008-2010 sleds.

BRP does offer a 2010 rear suspension update that comes with rails, longer shock and the revalving for the rear shock that was already spoken of. Someone posted the part number above. Easier to just get a longer shock with relocating brackets and replace the rear shock with something else.

2008 Sleds had alot of reported sag issues. Improper valving/charging in the rear shocks lead to this.

2009 there was not as much issues with sag. Ski-doo builds their sled with a certain amount of sag. Look in your owners manual. The sag allows the skid to drop out of the tunnel in deep snow. Don't confused sag with bottoming out.

In 2010 ski-doo changed the shock length and mounting postion of the front skid shock. 1" longer. This allowed for better handling, but actually has negative effects on deep snow performance. Personally I don't notice it.

2011 was the first time the Summits came with the narrow stance front end (S-36). The narrow stance along with the 2010 rear shock changes greatly effected how the sled handled and for many people, more imprtantly how it "layed over".

A longer middle shock with relocation brackets will not cure sag. There are scissor relocation brackets that moves the rear scissor further back as well. This keeps the rear suspension pressure upwards. The rear scissor tends to collapse too much under load. The rear scissor brackets are good for any year summit.

On top of all that, the stock rear torsion springs are too light. These are what keep the tunnel out of the snow. BRP must have had a 12 year old girl ride the summit when making spring choices. Running the stock springs in the highest setting will not make enough difference. Better off getting the heavier springs. They likely need to be replaced anyways if they are over 2 years old.

hopefully that makes sense.

I'll have to see the final dollar amount when I get everything back. I'll let you a know the cost and see if there is a difference. I had to either rebuild, revalve or replace all my shocks. Fiqured its was going to cost a ch!t load either way. If I replace the shocks they would have to be revalved to my riding style and weight anyway so i decided to stick with the X shocks that came on my sled and just have them rebuild/revalved and springs added that actually hold my 220lbs ass off the ground. ENZO say they have a kit with a longer middle shock and relocating bracket to help with the proformance of the sled.
I'll just have to see if I wasted more money on this thing.
Starting to think I should burn it and buy an RMK

sent rear shock to Enzo for re valve etc. fast turn around and good price when you consider what BRP wants for the oil alone, I will use them for my other sleds as well. pair of stock 08 "X" 154" rails for sale 100.00, as well as front shock with 800 miles for 145.00,(350.00 tax in new from BRP)

gas shock fill tool kit # 503 190 102
tire valve type tool # 529 035 570
shock absorber oil # 293 600 035
I have N2 also but I will be sending my other sleds shocks to Enzo, for how many days I ride a year and the cost of BRP oil it's not worth doing them myself, they are really good to deal with and several authorized Ski-Doo dealers would not help me out, most dealers send their shocks to them and mark it up anyway.

I installed the nextech swing arm conversion w/ fox float and reservoir last winter.. It was a quick and easy swap, changes the angles, heavier springs and if i recall the shock is longer.. It seemed to help a little bit w/ the air pressure up over 100psi... Bought it used off a buddy who was going to a full Racers Edge skid, we both got what we paid for...

I purchased the 860200404 kit for my 2008 Summit Everest, my rear shock cannot be re-calibrated, its a sealed unit. I guess the X models have a different rear shock.
The kit comes with a re-calibration kit for the rear shock.
Does anyone know if I purchase a new rear shock will it have the correct charge\calibration or will it be identical to the shock I already have?

Thanks in advance

well i put the rear suspension upgrade kit into my sled on weekend. I noticed better bounce feel and feels like a suspension should. with the old suspension it would lay down after 3-5 bounces and if you got off it woukd take a while to return. New kit installed is way better ...YES!!!! now waiting for S36 to come in for front

If you want to replace it yourself it was easy enough to do, you just need a couple torque wrenches and a lift for the rear of the sled to pick it up to remove the skid

A ratchet strap can do wonders to get the last to bolts for the skid in by compressing the skid to the correct position to align the bolt/bolt holes.

Thanks for the reply 38984
I pulled the suspension today, my rear shock is still within spec according to the manual so i will just re-install it and see if the sag is cured.

Finished the install, sag is better but it looks like I have to replace the Everest shock.
Have to figure out which one to get as there are quite a few different models of rear shocks for the summit XP on the BRP parts catalog.
