Where Do You Mount Your MUFFPOT?

Ok I have a 2010 Summit and I put a Muffpot on it under the front hood on the exhaust but on top of the heat shield, it sucked. I just got back from 3 days in Allen and it didnt even get the smokies hot.

Now dont tell me to ride it harder, I have no issues putting the throtle down.

Other than that my machine is stock. So if you have pictures just show me where you mounted that damn thing so she will cook.

Not much room on the XP, but I mounted mine under the spare belt. Sorry, but don't have any pictures yet. Had to cut some of the heat shield away to turn it into a cooker not a warmer. You probablly don't want to cut into your new pipe...I know, I didn't, but hot food is nice again. :beer:

I have a Can on my machine and mounted mine right on top of that...works awesome.

on an xp you'll have to cut rhe aluminum shield to get the pot hot. if you can mount her from behind works wonders :beer:

My buddy made an aluminium pad out of foil to spread the heat out more on the muff pot. And mounted it just above his can. We was eating cooked Chorizo sausage in Keyhole this weekend mmm good lol. I am sure he may post some pics here when he checks in

Further to btcowboy's comment here are some pics of the aluminum foil heat transfer pad. It increases the metal-metal surface contact area for much more heat transfer into the cooker base.

I mounted mine at the back of the can, I cut away the aluminum heat shield, and the insulation, and did the aluminum heat transfer pad trick. Took it out today for a test ride, and it did not work worth a damb. I rode hard for an hour and I could hold my hand on the aluminum bracket.

Was it the deep powder flying in @ the vent hole? Perhaps, but you would think it would be a bit warmer. I will post some pics.

This is where i mounted mine to warm all i need is about a hour and a few good pulls and the sausage is starting to get crisp on the bottom.

did you cut the pipe insulation off? looks like a good spot, you mention a few good pulls and it's hot but does it get too hot too fast?

I never cut anything off i started wraping with 3 or 4 layers off foil i cooked mushroom porkchops one day yummy!put them in at the parking lot at clemina first thing come lunch they were perfect.

Did you cut away your heat shield or insulatio under the pot or straight onto the aluminum ?? and it gets hot enuf to cook or just warm up the goodies ??
