2016 xm 800 no spark

I’ve got a 2016 800 xm summit x with 6000kms

lost the headlights about 100km ago thinking it was just a loose connector after having the hood off to replace a throttle cable about 400km ago.

Today after taking a full temp climb I shut the machine off at the top, 2 mins later I started it back up and turned around to go downhill. Heard the engine beep and saw the check engine light flash for a half second before shutting down. No spark.

Tested the stator and voltage/insulation values seem ok

all other lighting/electrical/was working minus the headlights up to this event

havent taken the machine to a dealership yet to hook it up to buds but that might happening here soon

Does sound like a stator. mine was toast even though the voltage was in very close to spec. Mine was intermittent though, would die then fire back up and run for a bit, sometimes all day. Replaced capacitor and ran for a bit. stator was in spec, but upon visual, i phase was burnt, crazy it ran at all. replaced capacitor and stator and first ride out, died again. Ended up being the voltage regulator which is in the ECM. Replaced that and has been fine for the last 2500km. Electrical Gremlins are the worst! Good Luck

I switched out the stator today, unfortunately it did not change anything.

although upon closer inspection my headlights had Acctually exploded out of their glass housings

maybe voltage regulator(that was my issue after chasing it for year and a half) which means ecm. got a buddy with one that you could try?
