Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
On full throttle on long, spring climbs, my sled momentarily cuts out. Not enough to stop and tumble down the mountain but enough for a “I hope that doesn’t happen again on this climb, I could die.”

So far I have removed tank and drained.
Changed plugs.
Fuel filter.
Changed fuel pump.
Changed reeds.
Cleaned throttle bodies.
Compression is 152, 151.
3000km
It has a dyno port y-pipe, sled shed cooker can and a Trygstad t-stat bypass.

When I changed the fuel pump, there were no issues for two rides but now the issue is back.

Any suggestions? I’m stumped.

My XM does the same. Seems to do it more often in warm temps which had me thinking fuel pump. I’ve done all the same things you’ve done except fuel pump... so guess I won’t spend money on that now lol. In Maxwell’s troublesome XM thread he’s saying plug wires fixed it. Different problem in that it falls on its face at 7000 rpm but that’s right around where mine cuts out. Might try swapping wires from a buddy’s and see what happens.

Mine sometimes won’t start when on a steep incline. Like stuck in a hole type thing. So weird. A couple Etec’s are acting up this year. Etec covid? I think I’ll try plug wires too. Heck, I’ve came this far. Can’t hurt!

Seems like there were a few fuel pump issues. Dealers blamed it on plugged filters but I am wondering if it is a wiring problem. Maybe really check your connectors/grounds.

Sometimes it only goes to 7800 and wont go any higher and it seems like the raves valves are staying closed. I’m gonna clean them tommorro. If no workie, stator is next. It’s like it’s making 30% power. Feels like a 154 but worse haha! Been struggling all season. I get sad when my sled doesn’t rip.

I had similiar problens on my 2019 E-tec.
Seemed issues would show itself at the worst possible times.
Climbing out of valleys in places you just dont want to break down. LOL.
No codes were thrown and it was a pain in the azz to track down.
Many hours and parts swap from my other sled.

Eventually turned out to be a intermittent coil on the PTO side.

Might assist you.....These things are difficult to trck down.

Ever find out the issue? mine has a similar issue but i have a Redline turbo. Sled reacts like it loses air or fuel and the most inopportune times. Replaced stator and ECM so far at Redline and still no fixy. putting miles on the Street Glide now, but the sled in on the lift and tear down will start sooner than later.

Haha mine is on the stand too!!
No, I haven’t found the issue despite changing reeds, fuel filter, draining fuel tank, plugs, tightened up the plug caps, put dielectric grease on them. I checked the crank run out and it’s .004” but it was .001” last year. I had a clutch arm get stuck open and I think it caused the three thou difference. Ima keep riding it unless it starts vibrating like a vibrator.
Sometimes it only to revs to 7800 and just stays there and doesn’t make any power. Sometimes it gives a hiccup or two at wfo but there’s no rhyme or reason when it does it. It’ll hiccup just enough to get me over the hill but almost enuff to send me rolling back down. It’s an adrenaline rush every climb cuz I’m always waiting for the hiccup. Then one time it will go 8000 rpm and it will work ok, but it won’t rocknroll like the past years. Not quite enough to not ride the sled but just enough to ride all day and get kinda frustrated. I rode all year like this !
I was gonna do the stator and/or Ecm next so I’m glad(but sad for your cost) you tried but nothing changed.
The last ride this year I was talking about what my sled was doing. My friend goes “oh, that’s the rave valves sticking. Clean the raves.” He is a lifelong Doo guy and he had the same issue on his 800Etec.
Anyhoo, I took them out and the are on my bench as we speak. They were somewhat sticky when I put them in and tried to operate them by hand. Like not gooey sticky, but if they were cocked just a c-hair in the cylinder, they were like frozen stuff like they were welded in. It was weird. Not a chance of moving them if cocked a bit.
I hope that cleaning them works cuz in between you and I, we have changed everything but the motor!
Here on the bench is how they sit as we speak. It’s the first time I’ve messed with Doo raves so I don’t know what they are sposed to look like carbon and gunk wise.
Have you had any rave experience?
