Clean them real good with brake clean - take the wire wheel to them - put a little oil between the two rave halves - put a light finger smearing over the whole thing pop em back in - good 2 go - the stupid check valve manifold is the biggest culprit I have found - re-locate it and bypass it also

mine has been doing it before and after complete engine rebuild. New crank, new monoblock and new pistons. Doubt it is an internal motor issue. rave valve solinoid replaced at time of rebuild. i am leaning towards electronics or fuel management, but fawk is it frustrating! i hear you on the pucker factor! I go from full on **** eating boost grin to oh fawk you c*%$ several times a day!

Had this issue on my 2015 t3 175" impulse turbo this year. ride the sled around on and off the throttle fine. pull a long hill and it would start to hicup after a bit and sometimes force me to have to turn out even. its running out of fuel on long pulls. put a fuel pump in it good to go never had a issue again rest of the year

stock fuel pump or aftermarket. mine does the same, let off the gas and it picks it back up, most times i am already fuc$ered though. hoping this solves my issues!

I heard you got beat by a stock 154 cat.... So I figured there was something wrong with the XM, and here it is. If it fuel delivery it should do a little more than a hiccup, but might as well check pressure and clean the orange/brown check valves at the bottom of the fuel sump. Pneumatic manifold would be my first guess. If you don't have a Mityvac to test, just replace it, but might as well get one to pressurize the bellows and make sure the valves don't hang-up. Ignition coils are always a possibility, so might as well change that too. Good luck and don't let the cats catchup lol

Got a question for ya. If you were given a free belt drive to replace the chaincase, would you install it on your XM? Or would you sell it to someone that believed it would increase the driveline efficiency?

Change it to belt drive - it's easy to do - and oil for the chain case is a thing of the past = priceless

i'll throw it on a turbo XM. Not sure the efficiency is worth the cash.

So can you enlighten us with some wisdom behind this riddle? I am honestly interested in understanding the efficiency losses and gains.

I currently have a Tki belt drive and a mountain valley machine hanging on the wall. I would prolly keep it on the wall forever cuz I suck at selling things. What make of belt drive?

No wisdom here. Look at the bars, only red. Kanedog is different. He thinks for himself and doesn't rely on herd immunity.

Don't know. This is mostly a Western thing. East/West are still completely separate cultures. Ask the same question and get completely different answers.

What kind of hiccup were you experiencing? Last ride of the season mine was acting up. It's a 16 800, it would bog out during WOT on hills or flat. Go from 7800 down to what sounded like 1 cyl and 6000-6400 rpm. A quick off and back on of the throttle would usually snap it back to full rpm but it would fall back on its face shortly after. Sometimes complete the climb sometimes happened 2 or 3 times during the run. I just put both new fuel filters in it and checked the throttle bodies and reeds. All looked well. Checked raves on the hill and the moved easily as well as new plugs on the hill but it didn't change anything. Hoping it was gummed filters due to sitting from previous owner. Has 940 km on it and I put 400 of them on last season.
