I've been wanting a 154 for years but bought a 146 because the price was just too good to pass up at the time but I still want a 154. Has anyone converted an XM to an Expert model like on the Gen4? Is it doable?

Just swap rails or use extensions and get the longer track. Check gearing but I think 146/154 are the same.

Saw an XMpert in paradise the other day. 146 stretched with new G4 154 track/drivers etc....

Munster bushing savers and rear coil spring spacers... you're set

Would highly recommend NOT doing extensions. I just sold some new black xm rails....... definitely go with stock rails or find some used iceage ones. I’ll have a 154” x16” x 2.5” track off my Gen4 for sale this summer. If memory serves me correct the gearing is the same.

Definitely not doing extensions, either stock or Iceage for sure. Gearing is the same as are the shocks. Hoping to convert it before riding season is over, which is going to be a while with all the snow we got this winter.

a lot of guys rave about the larger pitch G4 track performance compared to the older, not the reliability but the performance. lug spacing etc...

Absolutely can not agree more. Only thing I liked about my xm and xp. That’s why I’m switching back to a 3” pitch track/drivers

Gofast89 just did his and my sisters rides. Put a 163” 3” on 154, and a 154” 3” on her 146” free ride. His is rubbing back of tunnel with 10” wheels on. Think the freeride is aswell but not as noticeable. She ways 110 pounds and stock rear idlers. Think gofast89 hopped On it and got it to rub as well. I’ll tell him to check out this thread.
