Ya only thing I’d like to look into is doing something with the rear “finish” piece for the tunnel where the flap mounts. The track rubs it a bit or might just wear in and find home. Haven’t decided yet lol but besides that wasn’t much different then when I first converted my 154 2.5 to 154 3”. Just longer now. Running 3” pitch tracks and 7tooth drivers. One set is factory t3 drivers and shaft. Other is avids. Not much difference that I noticed riding with either set. Gearing in the 146 was 21/49 I believe. I put my 154 19/49 in and just duplicated the clutching I made for the 154. I installed a belt drive on the 163 at this time and gear up a hair from the 19/49 and the sled liked it as well

Can always get some aluminium bent at a different angle or drill out the rivers and move the bottom out.........

Exactly. Something like that. Just got em all swapped over last week in time for a 3 days trip last weekend and haven’t looked at the since. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too hard to macgyver something. Besides the lil rubbing everything worked good

Glad it all worked good!! I’ve been wanting to do a 162” swap on my Gen4 since the second ride

Found a 154” track (stock), now I just need to find some rails to complete the swap.

Well I am pleased to report that turning the XM 146 into an Expert with the 154 was a complete success!! Couldn't be happier with the end result, only wish I would have done it sooner.

Update on the Expert conversion. I had to cut about 3-4" off the snowflap because it kept getting caught up in the track. I was worried it might affect cooling but the sled still seems to run just as cool as before the swap. Wife took it for a rip and liked it so I am going to put this track on her sled and buy myself a Composit 154 2.6" track next season, they are getting rave reviews up here by some of the more hard core sledders.
