Starter Bolts

Has anyone had a problem with the long starter case bolts coming loose continuously on a 16 XM 800etec , chkd crank runout ,.008 thou - its not the greatest , but not real excessive that would shake bolts loose in 3 rides

Possible the bolts were not clean, they need to be free of all grease and oils for any loctite to hold. Clean the with some alcohol or brake cleaner first.

The loctite primer in the green can cleans/preps and gets it to setup right now. Also, put the loctite in the hole rather than the bolt.

I'm pretty confident Brian can use loctite properly, unfortunately I can't shed any light on his problem. 8 thou is getting up there though and could be part of the problem my worst was 9.5 thou and it shook pretty good.

you'd be surprised... They actually tried to blame improper Loctite application for the west Edmonton mall rollercoaster crash....
