the 875 and the 950 big bores work extremely good from mad motorsports. I think it's worth a phone call and check it out.

Call someone ;). Linderman can cut it for you, I am sure powder freaks could. They are merely just opening it up the .060 thou for the larger piston.

or just run it.
the two 872s that are in the garage have their heads shaved? didnt think they did. the 860 i have in the old XP runs cat pistons.

Alrighty getting back into this thing again. Engine is apart now and the exhaust side of the right piston is nuked. Lucky I didn’t lose the skirt! Thinking it must have got hot? Maybe went lean? Wondering if I should be looking into my right injector and if so what would I be looking for. Not sure if it means anything or not but the right injector seems loose in the housing and falls out as soon as you tilt it (left one is hard to get out of housing). Both orings are still ok visually

Nothing wrong with that monoblock, it can be repaired. Motts has a exchange program, they get there stuff from CVTech. Or just deal with CVTech yourself and have it repaired.

Good to know it’s not that bad (even with the crack). Thanks. Although looks like costs for exchange vs repair aren’t much different.
Couple more questions... I’m really hoping someone can offer some insight into what could have caused this by the pics. Lean and hot? Is there anything I should be doing with the injector?
Also, if I replace the block how do I know what thickness of base gasket to use? Guessing I shouldn’t just use same size as original. Would I measure the ‘piston projection’ spec from the manual and set it that way? I’ve measured the x dimension to determine this on my 2 stroke dirt bikes and assume it’s the same process...

Thanks for any help!
