No. Just revs to 7200 and starts to backfire like it’s on a two step.

Blew into the vacuum lines for the raves and it moves out so it’s not a diaphragm there. That thing in the middle of the rave with the three wire plug is that just a sensor I’m assuming? Was going to meter it but three wires I’m assuming it’s a 5 volt ref sensor of some sort for rave position.

correct. and it would throw a code if not reaching the desired locations

the other thing ive had happen is the pipe sensor failing. sometimes it throws a code and sometimes it doesn't. Either way really effects the top end

Did it do what I’m describing or just lack power or r’s?
This thing acts like it’s hitting the rev limiter but it’s not according to my ears and gauges.

check one done here but it could also be the vacuum/pressure manifold. I had mine fail and wouldnt close the RAVEs. Yours could be the same.
This the one you’re talking about? Metered it and got about 30ohms.

So got to here. What kind of fancy tool do you need to pull this off? I’m guessing 3 jaw puller. Not seeing any sort of obvious melty burny yet though.....

I would think if it is a stator you would have codes? You aren't pulling that off without the proper puller. Don't try to pry it off.

on reassembly do not use impact on the bolt i thread bolts in and make my own holder. then apply the factory torque spec

Ya no wasn’t gonna lol. My puller kit is at work but I don’t see anything obvious burnt so gonna smash it back together.

What’s the torque spec on the nut?

90’ish ftlbs according to google.
Long pry bar between the ring gear, one of the case tabs and braced against the secondary works good.

I belive oler is talking about #61 on the parts diagram, i had mine intermittently failing and it would back fire and shoot flames out the muffler at that 7000-7200 rpm sweet spot right when the raves are supposed to start open up.

I could usually force mine through that rpm band though.

That manifold is jamed right in between the reed valves its can a be PITA to get out.

Looks you gotta pull the throttle bodies and reeds to get to this or what?

FWIW it doesn’t sound like the reeds are opening so you guys may be on to something.
How is it supposed to function? Looks like it has check valves or something on it.

Yup, air box and thottle bodies for sure, i put new reeds in while i was in there tearing that chit out. The taking the clutch tower helped out a lot as i don't have the smallest of hands to get in there.

Oler can likely explain it better, but the way i understand it is that manifold takes the crankcase pressure and pressurizes the rave system to the selonoid, when the selonoid (your previous picture with 3 wires that you checked) calls for the raves to open it sends pressure to the raves to open pressure it recives from that manifold.

Im pretty sure that manifold has a check valve on each end.
