Options for lowering compression on xm

stacking head gaskets isnt an option.

you can however increase base gasket thickness thats the cheapest way but the most labour intensive. also changes port timing so most dont do this.


best option is to have your factory head cut

Ok cool thx for the info - I'll look into getting that done - probably Mott's machining? I'm not far outta Edmonton

ya im not to sure i know boost it was having factory heads cut for low compression so guys could run pump gas. just not sure who was doing it.

Powderfreaks makes a turbo specific head for XMs that lowers the compression. It performed very well on pump gas at ~5lbs of boost.

im pretty sure ive told you where to get this done previously...Could be wrong tho so ill say it again. Mountanmajic has them on the shelf you come in with yours and exchange for theirs and you are good for 10lbs on pump fuel.

Putting the powderfreaks head on - 12:1 ratio and drop kicking the g3box into the trees and gonna try the Aurora fuel reactor - hoping the Bluetooth data logging to my phone will help troubleshooting - also the intake manifold temp sensor and the 02 sensor on the Aurora should help with it constantly adjusting the fueling - which I'm pretty sure that's what I need - temp sensitive constant adjustment - because sometimes the 2860 is warm and other times you could do hot knives off of it
