Well frick......I think I just screwed up the sliding half of my primary. Took the arms off to clean the pins and think I hydrauliced the bolt and put a dimple in the face of the clutch. Have done this a hundred times and never had that happen. Only thing I can think of is just got some new loctite and its not the real runny stuff, but kind of a paste.

Anyone have a clutch, or even just a sliding half they would sell? Could try and have them machined off but would probably cost just as much and would probably leave a weak spot (who knows how much material is left if it pushed out like that). Found a clutch off an 09 xp on kijiji that seems like a decent deal. Will that work on a T3?

Any TRA will work . A older one you might have to put a extra washer on the clutch bolt to get it to tighten up.

I dont think any tra will work as i do believe the fixed half that goes on the crank may differ in certain years, the sliding half i am not quite sure, but you could look up the part number of the clutch (sliding half and fixed half) of the year of sled you have and any other one you plan on buying.

Talked to a local guy here who knows his stuff and he suggested I try sanding the dimples off. Worked like a charm. They werent as bad as I thought. Good as new again

Glad you got it sorted without needing a new clutch. So hydraulic pressure behind the pin locator bolts pushed dimples out on the sheave face? Good to know.

Yeah, if nothing else this might stop someone else from making the same mistake. The only thing I can think of is the new loctite I have. Ive always used the watery stuff. Just got some that is more like a paste. That is the only thing that was different because I have done this same thing a hundred times without any issues.

Did ya take a pic?? Not sure I understand where the dimple is, you mean from the two bolts that hold the arms in the sheave??
