I don’t remember where on the crank stub your supposed to take that measurement.
It does look like its out of spec.

The distance from the end of the stub doesn't matter much but I think skidoo calls for an inch. I prefer to turn it over with the recoil as I noticed some induced error by using the bolt and a ratchet. Get your dial indicator as low as it goes and set it to 0 then see the highest reading. Looks like 5 thou. I think spec used to be 2.5 thou and is now 5. I wouldn't be concerned at 5. How many km on it?

Yeah it’s 5 thou. Video looks good on the iPhone, but garbage on YouTube. I’ll try it again using your method and see what I get. I wanna say it has about 1800k? I’ll have to double check when I get it back together. Warranty is up in December but that doesn’t really matter now...

4 thou with the dial indicator bottomed out and using the recoil. I’d say I’m probably ok.

Yup not enough for warranty and not bad enough to worry about doing it yourself yet. I traded in my 14 with 9.5 thou, that was a time bomb.

Tried to get one warrantied last year and BRP instructed my dealer through the dealer communication that it was 5 thou now. So I guess it changes on a case by case basis when warranty starts to get too expensive.

Thanks for the help. Maybe a new 850 for me next year. Or an Alpha.. or a Sidewinder... Whatever one weighs the least LOL hahaha.
Seriously though, it’s been a good sled to me. Bring on the pow.
