It is possible... 20/51 with 104 on a stock case

T3 it has been done, just can’t remember the gearing. I think it was with a 49 bottom, 106 chain. Don’t remember top gear.

I went 20/51 w/104 in my XM no tensioner. Broke a chain early in the year and went back to a tensioner with the longer chain. Great gear ratio though.

49 bottom w/106 is stock 174 t3 so probably need a 21 up top to ditch the tensioner, maybe a 20.

the t3 mentioned had it done twice with totally 2 different gear ratios and 2 different length chains....and it will be done a third time this evening if you get your ass to my garage to give me a hand...going for a 2.5 ratio tonight

Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
It's not my thread but I'd thought I'd share what a 23/80(3.48) gear ratio looks like. It's a turbo killer.

Now were talking. Consider putting a 19 with the 53. You gonna shake yer head when you ride against a stocker.
So what's the big deal???

I thought too low of gearing causes same issues as too high of ratio??

With 2.5 being ideal

Does it fit in the case? I have a 51 on there and there's a bit of room left but not sure if it's enough for two more teeth.
Isn't the t3174 geared 51 bottom stock??

What top gear ya got??

The best setup is to run as close to 1-1 primary/secondary ratio as possible.
The closer the belt is to 1-1 ratio, the faster the sled will go. To get the belt higher in the primary close to a 1-1 ratio, you have to lower(numerically higher) the gears.
I tried every possible T3 174 gear ratio from 2.3 to 3.48. At 3.3gr it started to kill turbos. 3.48 is better but there's more in her. It's still not getting to 1-1 yet but it's close.
That's my experience so far. Your mileage may vary.
