so I have to buy a new driveshaft for my xm - it's $400 new and it's 7 tooth - the Gen 4 is 8 tooth and $405 - just wondering if anyone knows if the gen4 driveshaft will pop right in my xm - if it does I thought it would be sweet to run the 175" 3.5" pitch on my turbo xm any help with this would be great thanx:beer:

Yes they do swap. 8 tooth on 2.5”track xm. 7tooth on t3. Are you sure the gen 4 is 8tooth? Pre sure it’s 6??....... but yes you can do the gen 4 3”.5 swap using the factory gen 4 parts on your xm

looking online it looks like the 165 is 6 tooth i think but not 100 per on that 1 - they do make an 8 tooth i think just not sure if it's 3.5" pitch drivers or not - i'm hoping 8 tooth will fit in there cuz my life expectancy on the 7 tooth is too short - too much power - keeps tweaking the shaft - its got a bend in it and track is shifting to brake side and rubbing in the tunnel right next to driveshft - I need a solution that is going to be construction grade - I thought about trying to spray - spray foam inside the shaft to try to make it maybe 5% stronger - I dunno - need some help with this 1 - I don't think the 6 tooth would hold up to Boost

You might wanna look aftermarket then? There’s a lot of turbos and/or big bores running stock drivers with no issues

I'm wondering if the avid drivers are my problem - i never had issues on stock drivers for the first 1500kms - i changed to the avids i think just to spend money on my sled one day getting trigger happy online - so now since i gotta get a new shaft I'm debating what to change it to - 3.5" pitch and change to the 175" or change back to stocker 7 tooth and run my 174"

I’d go 3.5 175 but that’s me. I built my 154 “t3” years ago but if I could do it again now it would be a 165 3.5pitch

I haven't done it personally but if you are wrecking 7T avids I would say the 6T stockers aren't going to be an improvement. Call Dale at H20 in Sicamous he was doing T3 swaps into G4's.

G4 with 6t 3.5p stock Doo drivers is a junk setup. Even the stock powered g4 track shafts are bending. It's pretty much a guarantee with a turbo that the track shaft will fail.
Go with a 174 t3 setup.
9115m camoplast. Stock 174 3" paddles fold over under boost.

Ok so challenger extreme track with stock t3 driveshaft and drivers - only crappy thing is the challenger is 15" wide - I guess it's not the end of the world - I have the 9115m on my kingcat 900 and it's pretty rank

Have you looked at Powderfreaks drivers?
I haven't looked at powderfreaks yet - I was talking with Dave at a sicamous st the shop across from timmies forget the name of the shop - hes super knowledgeable about the doos- he said the avids are no good cuz they can tear the windows with boost cuz rhe extroverts are so square like - my bad on the 9115M I see they make it in a 16 wide - I've also heard people say that if the person putting the aftermarket drivers on - screws it up at all and that can cause problems too - I thought maybe an 8 tooth setup might reduce a bit of the insane load on the shaft - but not sure if an 8 tooth fits - all I know right now is - I'm not putting avids back on - have to buy a new driveshaft right now anyways - windows are in a it of ruff shape right now from my track running to one side due to half mangled shaft - so ya thinking changing the track and keep the stock track as backup

The 9115m is 16" wide.
Ya I researched it after - I've got the challenger extreme 3" 162 x 15" on my kingcat it's a good track that's for sure - the one on my cat is flat paddles across the top - no little notches cut in them
