Here is a thought from me, i have all way's aimed when it comes to gearing for 2:1 ratio's on all my mod's.
That is Yamaha's, Cat's and yes Doo's.
No matter on track length, after that i work on what ever results i have created through power and clutching.
Doo's do have a shet clutch system and are difficult to achieve good results in these ratio's but it is not impossible cause i've done it.
So personally at least if you can't achieve it, try to get as close as possible, like 2.3/2.4:1 and run with it.
What you will find though is the clutch will run hotter the closer you get to a 2:1 ratio, you will need to figure out the right weight helix combo to compensate.
Just my way.

Fawked a top gear and couldn't get the 2.52 ratio. Went with a 2.4 ratio but never got much testing done. Had the girl out and she put the ol' bigbore out in the rhubarb couple of kms into the ride and smoked her leg pretty good. Day was done.
