On my last few rides, when I roll sled over, I've been leaking alot of chaincase oil. Is there supposed to be a check valve or something on th e end of vent hose? Or do I just need a longer vent line with a loop on it?

Nope, but what I did is I put a loop in mine. I can't remember though if I replaced the line because it wasn't long enough, or just used the factory hose.

Ok thanks! Just seems odd that it's never leaked before and I haven't changed the hose. I'll put a longer hose with a loop and see what happens next time

That’s a bad idea. You want a permanent fix here you go.

go down to Canadian tire(or where ever you can) and get a 3-4ft section of clear hose.

Pull the stock one off

install new hose and route to the clutch side panel

there you will see a couple of non-used plugs where the gas tank vent is

drill one out and hook up new hose

been working for 10k km and counting, no more leaks at all.

Nice suggestion, I’m gonna do that!
And yes just hanging a longer tube doesn’t help kinda makes it worse.

I just packed a bit of steel wool in mine.

Well my sled has been upside down many times and hasn't leaked since I put a loop in. I will take a picture when I get home, I had more oil leaking from the oblong oil tank neck until I installed the insert.

I run synthetic atf in my chaincase which is a bit thinner so it makes more of a mess than gear oil. Have tried a one way valve for a dirtbike gas tank as well as a loop but am for sure going to use Oler's recommendation.

Hose goes up and over the chain case half's so if some does come out it doesn't get on exhaust, hose doesn't point down or it will always leak

And egt muffler sensor wire goes into green clip
