Hey
Im looking on information on different belts and the compound they are made of vs the pin weights needed to run them and keep them from getting hot.
carlisle
gates carbon c12
both seem to be made of a softer compound, and softer would require less pin weight if im not mistaken?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its something yah have to play with. If a belt gives you more RPM than its a harder Durometer and it will need more weight. Harder belts are not always a good thing, they will also wear the clutch sheaves faster.

Gates carbon, DJ clutch kit, 14.8g empty pins. Heat is good but a fair bit of black marking on the primary sheaves after 3 days of hard riding (fuel light on at 60km each day, 30km of that trail riding). Clicker 3 on 174, 260# rider pulls 7900-8000 rpm on climbs flaring to 8200 when hitting hard pack.
