Xm race seat "lowering" mod!!!

Hey guys, after some trial and error and some R&D ive finally got a fix for guys that want a lower seat in the technical mountain riding section. Some of you know me from my other spring spacer rear skid mod thread and some of you have probably seen me post up here looking around for a WRP lowrider seat due to the fact im a shorter guy with shorter legs ive always had trouble hoping over my machine when in the steep and technical trying to perform the infamous hop over. The first problem is i couldn't get a low seat like that without ordering from the states and putting a large dent in the pocket book, and the second problem was i wasn't ok with losing the compartment behind the seat as that's where i keep my emergency tools. Well here's my fix! A full 3 inches shorter then factory, with the same factory look AND you keep the storage on the back of the seat! Ive put a fair amount of time into re-using the same factory material and making sure fit and finish is exactly the same a factory. The end result is a much easier sled to maneuver in technical terrain and a sweet factory look. I am offering the MOD to anyone who wants one, I just need your seat and a few days to complete the modification. A seat still comfy. Or is it like sitting on the tank. Owned a impulse nytro and ended up building a custom aluminum tank to get a lower seat on it with some padding as you were basically sitting on a barrel with there set up

yea its still comfy, theres surprisingly a lot of foam that i dont think is needed in that seat unless your 6 foot 9. Im really happy with how these seats turned out, ive got both my machines done along with all my buddies and nothing but good reviews so far. and it beats spending the big bucks on say a wrp seat or equivalent

Sounds very interesting and a good idea..........but I`m not really stuck on the finish of the material with the waves near and in the stitching. If it was a bit smoother look I would be very interested.

When i make the modification i modify the stock seat cover in order to keep the same fabric as factory, as you can imagine when you remove 3 inches of height it changes the way way the seat cover sits on the seat. i do my best to make the fabric look like it came from the factory this way, keep in mind the pictures on this seat were the first prototype I made for my machine. After doing several i think ive gotten a bit better at it, I just did my second machine ill post pictures of that seat so you can see the difference between the first one and what i am giving to the people who are looking for this mod.

I see on the old pics, you can see part of the tube frame, on the sides, but on the new pics it is covered in, Is that how you are making them now? It sure looks a lot better that way.

The sub frame you see in the first pics are because i have the covers removed. In the second set the covers are installed and that how it would look on yours.

Haha how about some pics without your bar pad on it?
Where are you at boss I'd like to sit on one before deciding to throw away a seat.
How is it riding down the trail sitting down. Like riding a Harley with crazy high monkey bars?

Im in Sherwood park, your free to stop buy anytime beers are cold and the sleds are in the shop you can check it out whenever. riding down the trail sitting on these are not to bad for me because i ride with a much lower bar riser to begin with, for someone with a stock bar height yet it would probably feel a bit different. All to your own, the reason for this mod is for the shorter guys to be able to throw their legs over while riding in technical spots without hitting the tips of your boots on the seat. For the 3 inch loss in foam you would be surprised at what your able to do hop over wise, if i could i would run no seat but that would be almost like cheating.

I think I`m coming up to the show this weekend in Edmonton. I will bring my seat with me, but I would like to see and sit on one also before I go for it, if that would be possible?
