Some guys drill a 3/8" hole in the back of the ski and put a 2" x 3/8" bolt in the hole with a small clip to hold it in place. They work well

I did the same as you brew-doo, but I made a slight mod.... The way you used closed eye bolts tells me possibly on the left side of the skid that the eye-bolt MAY work itself loose throughout its use, since the scratcher puts pressure down on the eye-bolt on the left side, same direction you would have to turn the bolt to loosen (righty tighty, lefty loosey)...

I "notched" the eye-bolt and mounted it VERTICAL instead of HORIZONTAL like you.. that way there is direct pressure on the center of the eye-bolt, versus the side of the eye-bolt...

20130124_124519 (640x480).jpg Heres my Version of your absolute ingenious idea!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the idea and works awesome!!!!! Plus, you dont have to worry about smashing ice out of the eye-bolt with it notched like mine... Just pop the scratchers on top of the ice and the spring tension of the scratchers does all the work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They work great - if the eyebolt is iced up, the ice just pops out from the force of the scratcher tip going into the eye. 2300 km on the set up with no issues so far...
