I’m in the market for a used sled. I found the following:
2015 summit sp 163 with 2500km
has a tss side mount kit

Other sled is a 2015 summit 163 t3 with 700km
has a tss instaboost turbo that was put on from.
the kit has roughly 900km on it because it was on his previous sled.

does anyone know anything about the instaboost kits?
if you were buying, which way would you go. Both are similar in price.

I havent heard good things about the instaboost kits. Sounds like they had a lot of problems with them. I havent heard the details, but two guys I know that had them ended up with side mounts mid season.

Some insane deals on used turbos. Summit889 ( I think thats his handle) has a sweet T3 with boost it kit and baker skid for under 10k on here

I haven't heard anything good about TSS since the famous divorce from Boost It. Boost It had the hot set up for programmer and that wasn't shared in the settlement.

Don't buy a TSS kit unless you hate yourself.

Dont buy a turbo period. All your Stock friends will make fun of you when it breaks down. They will complain cause the av gas burns their eyes when your out in front. Then they will send you into places first because if you cant get out they wont ether and then they just wait for you to get unstuck yourself.

on the other hand I really enjoy mine but I also like my stock one as well.

The instaboost is notorious for burning down etecs, I would avoid it like the plague. I would consider a side mount but mostly only because they are local to me and it would easy to deal with them.

There is a lot of negative stuff you hear about the instaboost kit. I don't own one, but I ride with one a lot. Have watched him put a lot of miles on it (would say around 2000) day in and day out. Running 10lbs and its never missed a beat. I keep saying its going to blow up but it hasn't yet. I think there was one day it didn't run well and the fuel pressure regulator had taken a crap. Couldn't be any more pull and go from my eyes. Maybe its the unicorn. An up north friend of mine picked up a very cheap used instaboost kit after I told him how good my buddies has been running. He only got it out for a couple rides last year but said it was working good. Both these guys are mechanics for a living though :). If I was in the market I would grab the one deaner was refearing to. I was actually thinking about that one with the nice exchange rate and all!

worked all the bugs out? wasn't this thing just rebuild for like the 3rd time and then failed for like the 300th time on your last trip so you had to rent from CKMP?

Fresh top end at 2000kms for the 1st time - all the other rebuilds were from tree carnage - had to rent at ckmp on last trip because the sled shop in edm hooked up boost to baro and baro to boost and left exhaust y pipe bolts loose - finally got help with mapping from turboperformance - switching to race gas to save $ on 02 sensors - bugs are worked out - you would know this first hand if you were more reliable than wet toilet paper
