My sled started acting weird yesterday. It is a 2013XM with a side mount TSS snow to air kit. With short boosts it runs great but at pulls longer than 10 to 20 seconds of full throttle at 8lbs of boost it would sputter and bog, after climb the sled felt sluggish and almost fouled up. Any ideas what would cause this

Did they install a fuel pressure gauge on your sled? Fuel pressure should be 40lbs + all the time. Sounds like your fuel pump is going weak.

It does have a gauge and at idles and reving up it is just over 40lbs but I notice when it's not running it bleeds off quickly

What does your air fuel do when it falls on its face?

Had that happen a while back, turned out to be a fuel filter, could not make flow over a long period of time

Fuel pump.. filter... should be 44psi

Could be fuel regulator-ecm i would guess that might be the issue

So put in new plugs and gave it a good once over, still doing it actually is getting worse. Fuel pressure holds at 40 psi, boost stays at 8lbs. AFR gauge is right around 21.1 and rpm hit 8000 at the top. Weird thing is I let sled sit for a while and the first Cpl pulls it never did it but after that it got worse and worse. It seems weird it takes off good then sputters and falls on its face almost seems like timing?????

Did you gap the plugs? Sounds like it could be heat soaking and detonating as the spark plugs turn into glow plugs.

Yes you should for a turbo application. Most are set for NA cylinder pressures and can be blown out with boost

So I found the clamp to the air intake where it meets the tubo was very loose, could sled be sucking in exhaust from the tunnel dump and choking out the sled. Could it be that simple

By the sounds of it, mine is doing the EXACT same thing, driving me bat **** crazy! Ride it for awhile like on the trail, than get right into something, ****s the bed. However, let it sit for 20 minutes, can get 2 maybe 3 good pulls, than it ****s the bed again. If you get it sorted before I do, let a guy know would you!

21.1 AFR is EXTREMELY LEAN! I hope that's a typo. My experience with the etec is they like to run the best in the high 11s or low 12s. If it is that lean I would say the fuel pump is getting weak when you also consider the intermittent nature and the lower than normal fuel pressure.

Sorry it was a typo. 12.1 to 13 fuel set at 137. fuel pressure was always around 40psi maybe 41psi.

Well I cant figure it out have gone through sl with a fin tooth comb. Changed plugs checked all rubber boots and clamps, fuel pressure is steady between 41 and 39psi, air/fuel gauge is 12.1. Not sure what is going on almost sounds like I is shutting off for a brief second. Could I be bad reeds or maybe a faulty stator. I'm stumped.

Fuel pressure to low for boost. Need 44ish numbers. Fuel filter in tank and in-line is likely plugged or fuel pump is toast or fuel regular/ECM. Also check turbo oil pump.

I'm speaking from the results of the same issue and now mine is fixed.
