So change your tuning, add or remove fuel through the rpm windows, or change your threshold setting.

Just like anything computerized the XIC is only as good as the person who programmed it.

100% agree, the XIC works fantastic. A single canned tune doesn't work on every sled and the XIC lets you tune to your engines needs

Right, and here in lies the problem. As Neil from Boost it tuned it. Still problematic.

That's funny Clode I have had 3 people pm me with the same canned tune running there boost it xic Xm doos and mine has the same canned tune in it.... but none with this rave delete mod yet ..... the rave mod deletes all the Etec hoses white manifold and solenoid that controls the rave valves and replaces with a simple mechanical bridge and springs which in theory keeps the rave valves closed on low load making turbo spool faster and more pow down low

My Pro wasn't perfect either when I got it, I had some playing to do with it. I ride far more on trails at high speed than most do so had to change the way it fueled when it spooled on the trail. Worked good if you punched it, but when rolling into the throttle and slowly spooling the turbo it would often detonate and sputter because it wouldn't fuel quite quick enough, I lowered the threshold in the controller and added fuel at 5250 to 5750rpm. Now I can tell when my turbo will spool by looking at the AFR gauge, it will go from 15.x to 13.x a split second before the turbo spools.

I'm sure you can do the same with yours.

Thanks! i'll try messing around with it when i get 'er on the snow soon!

yes I have used a XIC controller. I actually just finished reviewing a sled that someone destroyed the wiring harness putting one on and had to put a new harness and rewrite everything. If you would lean how things work I already explained it. The XIC doesn’t pull fuel from stock. Pre spool stock injectors make it to rich because the turbo causes extra back pressure. It is very common knowledge that Xm are known for a stumble around 5600-5750 rpm from stock being to rich. Some sleds are better then others, some kits and some turbos (wheel , size) are better or worse. If you did some research BD found this years ago and build it into their box for the Xm to be able to take some fuel from stock by tricking ecu a bit. BD can and will fix it.

i only have two days so far on my boost it xm, and i can say mine runs pretty darn good. i have no complaints as of yet. other then i blew a belt and hurt a reed, and my muffler split on one of their welds so i had to get that fixed. But other then that i really dont have any bogs or burbles. and its so fun in the trees at 6 lbs. does it run a clean and the silber 850 i have... not even close. but for my xm id say im overall pretty happy with the xic on it. my kit is not inter cooled like turboetecs so im not sure if thats where his stumble is from. But now im kind of interested in the boondocker box.. does it already come pre mapped and you just have to plug and play and set your boost? or do you have to tune the thing as well?

you just don’t get it at all. You can’t turn what you don’t have control of. Unplug the XIC box and you still get anrich pre spool condition because of exhaust back pressure. This is worst on an etec cuz of the direct injection because it quickly goes from 20:1. AFR yo stoic or lower

Exhaust back pressure. It’s actually called drive pressure the amount of pressure it takes to spin the exhaust turbine to create boost on the cold side. Ideal is 1:1 or less but it never works out quite that perfect. When removing a muffler and install a turbo it creates more ebp then a muffler to spin the turbo. Their for stock map needs to be leaned out a little bit. Better fuels help pump 91 and 94 are way less noticalble then AV cuz it burns faster. Clutching makes a big difference too being able to load the more more/less will have a big effect on this also.

Agree, I'd also say gearing as well?

I’ve had a lot of different setups/ boxes. BD, PC5, dobec, redline G3, bulldog flash tune (mtntk. The best by far) and worked on the XIC. The bd has the most functions, and will give the best tuning IMO. All other will work and if the planets alone can be perfect. Nothing comes close close to the bully dog flash tune but it’s not possible for an etec
