I had had put the helmet cam on the charge temp gauge and did a few longer 40 second wot pulls, that is something I didn't see go over the 100f, now. If you went out of your efficiency perimeter, yes it would...

when you get a correctly sized turbo that keeps the wheel speed down to get the desired boost the air temps will be much lower, but on long pulls the charge temps will still climb very high, an intercooler will keep temps more consistent and keep the engine happier
