Removing the High altitude kit from a 1996 SkiDoo Summit 670

Hello Snow and Mud world.

I am having some issues with my 1996 Skidoo summit that I think can be solved by removing the high altitude kit.

Problem is I don;t know how to do that properly so I am hoping someone here can either provide a link to some instructions, perhaps even a video or simply post here how to do this.

I currently live on the prairies so I have no real need for a high altitude kit on my sled.

Current issue I am looking to solve: Engine idles between 4500 and 5500 RPM constantly either warm or cold. Have verified the carb needles and played with the idle screw but neither of these had any effect at all at solving the problem.

I believe that the diaphram inside the HAC may be no longer serviceable but since I live on the prairies I am thinking I do not needa HAC on my sled.

Hopefully someone here can show me or explain to me what I have to do to properly remove the HAC.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong but all you need to do to remove the HAC is to remove the vacume line from the engine and the line from the HAC to the carbs, then plug where those lines used to be. Once the whole HAC system is removed you will need to rejet your sled to the mxz 670 jetting I believe. When you have the carbs off look at the inlet side of the carbs and youll see a flat head cap screw you need to remove this aswell. Either plug the hole in the HAC airbox or run pod filters.

Pm Tex on here.
He had a good fix for the last one with the same problem and only took some wd40 and a bettery.
Rather than removing anything.

That was for dpm, similar setup as hac , but doesn't have the same solenoid to activate with a 9 volt battery
