I have a 1998 mach 1 800 starts and idles no problem soon as I touch the throttle motor starts chugging and wont move. Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem any reason why or solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Tried moving the tether but still does the same thing and all electronics are form the original motor which also did the same thing.

I'm not 100% sure on the doo throttle block, but if you look at the throttle block you will see a very small plastic piece that the thumb lever touches. On my old polaris there is one on the front side of the thumb lever and one on the back. If the throttle lever doesn't move in the proper motion the switches do not act accordingly. Does the pivot pin move towards the center of the handle bars? I think that's hire one switch is engaged when you move the throttle.

I'd be betting on CDI box. Had same thing happen to me on my drag sled quite a few years back. Start and idle great. Touch throttle and it would chug, pop and backfire.

Pretty sure I have a couple spares as well. See if you can borrow one off of someone to try it. If you end up needing let me know.

Doo has no throttle switch. It's the CDI. That's why I carried spares to the race track.
