04 800 high idle

hey everyone, my 04 summit 800 has a high idle when i stop, idles down eventually, or can flip the choke to idle it down. It did the same thing with the old motor. I replaced the pilot jets with 20s, it helped a little, but still does it, anyone have any more suggestions, thanks.

turn the idle speed down....one nurled screw between the carbs

Thanks, will try adjusting the needles, I just replaced the carb boots, thats what caused my old engine to blow, will try the needles and air screws.

The idle screw is ok, after it sits for a min, it will come down to a normall idle, I've checked that. Appreciate the help.

I figured ya checked that.... could be the slides are not in sync.....

can anyone tell me what notch position the needles are on stock setting on 04 800h.o

I'd be willing to bet it's the middle or 3rd position, but I don't know for certain. Most carbs I've ever dealt with had 2 notches either way from the stock setting, usually in the middle.

Anyway, have an 02 800, and the other day I get this idea, maybe I want it to idle a little higher so I pop it up a bit, and low and behold it starts doing just what mike was talking about, set it back, gone. I didn't pop it up much just a little.
