Good Day. Is the 91 grade the best to use in the 850 turbo as they all seem to have ethonal in them? At fuel pumps here not to many getting 91 so it is old fuel?

In BC Shell and Coop 91 don't have ethanol. Chevron 94 is ethanol free as well.

Thank will be using a 94. Going to wait a bit for a little more snow 16 inches up top . I know that hidden rocks or trees HURT.

Did u sell the silber? Did u pickup a 2021 or a 2020 turbo? pour the 91 in a pin it.... where did you ride Matt? Still pretty skinny?

You better stage 3 tune that turbo doo if you are running 94 fuel....they doo use a bunch of oil until breakin is done at least mine did

Shell or chevron premium. No ethanol. That’s all I run in everything for premium. Especially if it sits for the off season. You will end up with water in your fuel.

All the sledders I ride with seek out non-ethanol. Only time I've seen guys using gas line anti-freeze is after using ethanol fuel. Fewer carb issues with the power equipment running non-ethanol too.

It used to say right in the owners manual no ethanol for etec engines. Not sure about the turbo don’t have mine to check
In my owners manual it says under fuel recommended fuel, use unleaded gasoline containing MAXIMUM 10% ethanol

Why roll the dice... it's pretty common knowledge ethanol and 2stroke's and their oils dont get along very well.

Im not saying water is instantly in ethanol fuel. Ethanol is Hygroscopic. That means it absorbs water. Any humidity in the air will get absorbed into the fuel little by little. That's why I mentioned sitting in the off season. I have ran other premium when i had no choice. for me anything that goes in a Jerry can is premium. When i put my lawnmower, boat, sled, bike away for there respective seasons I make sure the last tank of fuel to go through has no ethanol. If you fill up and burn it right away it is not as big of a deal. If you don't believe me you can look up ethanol and check it out for yourself. Brake fluid is also Hygroscopic. Thats why your not supposed to use it out of an opened container.

Run the fuel that is on the cap, 91, using more octane does nothing except take more of your money, like anything you have a choice, but your not making the machine run better by using 94, you also might be surprised if you checked every batch of fuel you poured into your sled car or truck, lots of variables. cheers dave

Picked up a fuel octane tester a while back for drag week and race week events. Mostly because of all the crappy towns we’d drive through with the race/street cars.
as mentioned it is very surprising what you get.
my advice, always buy at high volume areas, especially if there’s a lot of higher end sports cars demanding. Ethanol Genral makes more power than regular gasoline, the trade off “can be” water. But given most people ride hard enough to empty a tank every ride I wouldn’t be so concerned like the old days.
also keep in mind when you buy 91, that’s the minimum purchase... in Genral. Most of the time the octane you purchase is greater than 91. Octane tester usually shows 92-96 depending on the gas stations last rank fill or when the plants batch was last completed.

The biggest pet peeve of mine is single hose on a multi grade pump.
It may be in my head, but I swore my 2019 ran better when I had petro canada 94 in it.
