Well at the prices being put out there better off to get a new sled.....the theory of getting an sp and upgrading shocks appears to be the worst way to go

Nope, not true. I have done the enzo on my SP and now the shocks will go on another sled, regardless if its a expert or not.
Enzo tuned shocks are better than the expert shocks.

You have a freeride? Those shocks are rebuildable.

Yep Bert those are pretty much the best shocks you can get on a stock sled from Doo. Like Matt says they are rebuildable.

I found the raptors to be a $4,500 meh.

Raptors are a nice shock but they are expensive to buy and double the price to rebuild vs a X shock. A good shock rebuilder can do minor shim stack change and will be night and day difference
