Summit X-pert Ski Bushings

Anyone have any tips or tricks to keep the ski bushings in place under the x-pert spindles? I’ve popped one out on the past 2 rides. Seemed fine in soft conditions but now that things have firmed up it’s become an issue.

did you bang them, there is an insert that the rubber sits in and if that plastic part is bent then it wont seat right and come out, had the same issue after banging the ski base into a tree on an elevator, it did it again, then went in again as we just fixed it previously in the backcountry and found it needs to sit in properly, fixed it. cheers dave

Cut your spacer in half, centre the spindle on the ski with half of the spacer on either side and you won't have anymore problems, no it doesn't make any difference to how it handles

Just did that with a set of spacers I already had from my previous sled and had not put on yet. Rode yesterday and it worked great. Less chance of the bushing popping from a hard hit with the spindle centered.

I centered the skis and went to DuraPro rubbers. Done deal.

I'll definitely replace the current rubbers with Durapros once the stock ones wear out.

My stock ones are in my tool box with zero miles on them. I wouldn’t bother waiting.
