Lock out rear shocks for G4

I’m pretty sure the stock shocks should be fine for your needs this year riding around farm fields, poker rallies, going to A and W for coffee. Have you heard of the 165-121 conversion kit you have to hand in your man card to get it but I hear it’s so awesome you can go so fasttt!

It looks pretty unreal. But for 4K....... take wife to Mexico or shocks easy decision bring it on bumpy trails

That’s US pricing too so they’re a little bit more than that but that covers all 4 shocks the ECU that controls them and the handlebar button.

Realistically to get a set of 4 raptors up to here you’re looking at around $4300 Canadian.

And Cheap shocks aren't good.

Shocks can make a huge difference. I've listened to a couple of Burandt's POD casts and he has said repeatedly that the best single mod you can make to your sled is a good set of shocks. Even though he has access to all the turbos, carbon fiber, and titanium goodies he'd still pick a great set of shocks first.

I've been saying that for ten+ years! I always get shocks, but never needed a turbo yet.

Just finished 3 awesome days of riding in Sicamous. I put a full set of FOX QS3 shocks with lockout on my New T850. Now have 400 miles of all smiles on this T850. I had 2 weekends on the stock shocks to compare. I am so happy with these new shocks and its truly night and day ride and handling quality over the factory shocks. The lockout function is totally cheating. The sled stays flat up a steep climb. Had my riding group try it unlocked and locked and they can’t believe the differences as well. Takes this sled to another level in the steep and deep and everywhere in between. So much adjustability for different conditions. Then at the end of the day she’s smooth as silk through the whooped out trail to the truck. I’ve had many different kinds of aftermarket shocks in multiple sleds and these are by far my favourite. My only complaint is where the lock out switch is on the rear track shock. It’s on the bottom and would be perfect if it was on the side of the shock. Not terrible but you need to clean the snow build up by the switch when you need to lock it out.

This is the feedback I was looking for.
Definitely gonna grab a set of these now.

To bad the freeride model doesn't come with these......

You can put the $1600 price difference between the 165T Freeride and the 165T Summit X to put towards the shocks and you won’t break the bank on Spray 9 keeping the light grey panels clean.

That's long been the move... buy the holdover SP for CHEAP and put on the pimp shocks for under the price of a freeride, x package, etc.

Doo really ought to offer a fox (or other quality rebuild-able aftermarket) shock manufacturer from the factory.

You mean like those Fox Shocks on the "hardcore" that you need to reavalve so your girl friend wont bottom out on the groomed trail?


Ill take the Freeride shocks please.....

No, I mean custom valved aftermarket Fox Shocks from a legit shop. Not stock Fox, which are setup for the masses like stock doo shocks.

What is everyones recommendation buy new "better shocks" or send a X model shocks out to a guy like Enzo and have them setup?

Buy better shocks.
You can get those Fox shocks out of the catalog for 20% off from any semi decent dealer at time of purchase.

You kind of answered your own question, no matter which brand you choose, guys will always want the opposite. If you are looking for highly effective shocks, then they need to be set specifically to you, your riding and your weight. Shocks that come on any OEM have to be built to a general standard for all consumers, if they make them ideal for YOU, then they absolutely suck for someone else. It is why you can make a sled more specific and better for a person but that does not mean it will be better for everyone, hence the aftermarket. I have a 2020 summit x with fox coil overs, a 2020 freeride with kyb and a 2020 expert with expert shock package, and a 2020.5 turbo with expert shocks and x revavled rear, the biggest difference is on the trail, however if I were to go out and buy a sled or shock package right now I would take the 2020.5 over everything as for the money i get a turbo and the suspension is as good in 95% of my riding, the deep pow!
