T850 trenching

Came off a 18, 175x I struggled this weekend with the turbo trenching, I was really disappointed with this sled in the trees. I found if your weren’t on the throttle and had to nearly stop,the sled wouldn’t climb up on the snow even close to the 175 and would just trench itself stuck. Had more than one embarrassing stuck on this sled this weekend! Anybody else find this to be the case!

I was thinking of trading the 18' 175x for a turbo 165 but not if that's the case. Love my 175.

Tighten limiter one hole and set rear torsion springs to highest setting. Give that a try

That was the first thing I did when I got the sled home Sean, I didn’t like how the sled wheelied so much in all the vids I had seen, played with preloads and strap length but seemed like the front end was either a tank or it was trenching!
So much Hype over this sled and I was super pumped to ride it but honestly I was super Underwhelmed!!

So much Hype over this sled and I was super pumped to ride it but honestly I was super Underwhelmed!!

throttle control. I had to ride it like my T Nytro with 270hp. It had a 162 so easy gentle throttle was key.
Same with the T850. Gentle slow throttle or she wheelies everywhere.

I understand the limiter strap by why turn up the torsion spring? My 165 was trenching last ride as i let out the limiter to get better suspension over the whoops resulting in more trenching. The sled would move forward a couple of inches and trench down. Frustrating but everyone was stuck that trip.

Spent three days riding revelstoke this weekend on the new 850T. I could see how guys think its a trench monster, but this is what you get with more power so im shocked that its a surprise. The sled requires a more throttle control, no more on off thumb switch. I rode side by side with an expert and the turbo is more capable in every situation I was in. will you trench deeper with more ponies? yes. Is this news? no.

The chassis handles phenomenal. But it’s the expert package so it’s designed for flippy turns unfortunately for the climbing guys

yah your definitely correct, Us old guys might be better off with a 175 if they decide to build one for snow check!

yes I understand that but let’s be real here, for any one that has rode any well running mod sleds this turbo is by no means some kind of monster, it’s 165hp in a fairly heavy chassis!

Just keep riding and reporting so us snowcheckers know what to expect next fall.

Thanks for the update, keep them coming. I also agree that this sled is far from a monster as far as power goes it’s 165hp. Not much difference than a stock sled at low elevation.
