How did we get on clutching in a trenching thread???

So how does a person get a sled on top of the snow quick and keep the skiis down???

Well I will tell you how! Joey’s clutching is going to make my sled accelerate faster and smoother than stock which is already proven. Then I added FOX shocks to my rear suspension with lockout. Problem solved!!

suck your limiter strap up for better track angle and get on top of the snow quick and it will keep the skis down.

So I just got back from 4 days on the new turbski, thanks to Gateway SS in Rocky Mtn House, and I think the trenching woes are being blown out of proportion. Not once did I run the limiter strap in the short position and I rode everything from 3' of fresh up high around blue river to more set up snow in the trees at Clemina, the damn thing is so responsive that it just pops out of the snow like nothing else, if you've never rode a boosted sled I could see some stucks happening but it's all about throttle control, get used to that and your stucks will be few and far between. Actually come to think of it, I wouldn't change a thing with this sled and I've owned and rode nearly every turbo setup and rear skid there is out there. Sure you might see some gains from a clutch kit and a bumper wouldn't hurt but as for the rest, it just fkn works. Anybody that says it's comparable to stock 850, Polaris or Doo is high or just not that fkn bright. I had a couple of doo 850's and a patriot with me one day in north blue and I had to break trail for everybody to get in and these are good running, not exactly stock sleds. The one doo 850 with a baker skid was able to poach my line and scratch over on his first attempt but barely made it where I was still flying in fresh snow, I had to make a Runn down and then back up for the others to make it, oh and did I mention that I have 60-100lbs on all these guys? The hype is real, this thing is a game changer.

You guys saying a stock n/a sled in the meadow will keep up with the turbo skidoo are actually right. They will keep up. I raced the turbo against a speedwerx stage 2 alpha and he actually pulled on me in the meadow with 12” of fresh. This was at 10,000 feet.

2 days later after it snowed 2’, we raced again but up a fairly steep hill. I walked away from him very quickly. It was funny seeing the disbelief on his face because just 2 days ago he “kicked my ass”. The turbo definitely needs loaded to show its potential.

With all that being said, I hate the way skidoo handles especially in the steep sidehills. So dam unpredictable. I won’t buy a Doo unless they can figure out how to make a sled that don’t wanna kick ya off the hill every time you hit a bit of inconsistent snow.

Thank you, your review makes sense of what I saw and I was wondering why the turbo in our group seemed slow. I guess we are just not loading the N/A sleds enough to slow them down and really see the turbo shine. Even at 7500 ft. our N/A sleds have been ripping as the snow, although deep, has had a good traction layer below.

I’m thinking the biggest problem with the 850T is that I’m about 20 years too old to be honest!
The more I think about it,I was bitching about this sled after the very first day of riding a bone stock sled still in breakin and complaining about it not destroying some very well running mod! It’s really a sweet sled but I think the 175 will be more to my liking so an old guy can slide around through the trees like a jackfish through the weeds and then blast over the odd steep little pull!

I’m with you on that. Too old for that turbo but sure wish I was 30 years younger because I would have one. It’s just nice now to still be able to enjoy this sport. It’s just funny we hear the same comments we heard back then. Hell it was a challenge getting past the cabin at boulder but wee loved it. Never stop and live like you stole it.

watch this and tell me the clutching is not off. peak HP 7700 RPMS, next you will tell me his dyno is off. check Neil`s and powderfreaks dyno they all say the same peak HP.

Bikeman dyno is always high never good by that. MX express dumped it just above 165.
Turbo sleds in a dyno will never be 100% accurate anyway. Watch boost they will have full boost by clutch engagement rpm pretty much it kids the engine/turbo difference then the cvt/snow
