I am shocked that no one really understands what the " WARM UP" message that scrolls across the screen is really about.
When injection oil is cold the oil pump stays on after the oil delivery stroke as long as possible....the extra time the pump is on generates more heat that is dissipated through the oil that is going through the pump to be sure the oil has the proper viscosity. Once the ECM reads the proper measurement the WARM UP message will quit. This has been in place on the ETEC engines since 2009 when the 600etec was introduced to us.
So i would highly recommend you make sure you feel your heat exchanger to be sure your engine is warmed up properly!
