Hi I've got a 2017 154 t3 gen4 with about 2000 miles and the belt slips in reverse. I put a new belt on and the clutches look clean, I've adjusted the deflection and nothing seems to help. I even put dull carbides on the skis. Anyone else have this problem?

A Secondary roller is suspect. If the sled has 2,000 miles with no clutch rebuild, then both clutches need a rebuild.

This is assuming it’s a mountain sled but I see you are from Manitoba. Your mileage may vary as flatland sleds don’t wear as fast as mtn sleds.

Thanks kanedog, yes it's a summit, picked it up this spring. I guess I'll go rip the secondary apart then. Again thanks!

Had a friend who found big gains with replacing the secondary spring with a stiffer brp green spring. This might help get you a quicker backshift and get that clutch closed before you throw the primary in reverse.

Also don't you have to replace the primary spring if you change the secondary?

No, and possibly many failed belts can be blamed on the soft secondary. That P-drive is so fast to open on deceleration and the secondary is slow to close that the belt can get loose and balloon out and then the primary slips.

Yup secondary rollers aren't just worn, they're missing.

Haha excellent sense of humor! Love it!

This episode of the Kanedog Bureau of Investigation(KBI) is called “Honey, have you seen my secondary rollers?” Starring greg5658 with special appearance of his dirty bloody knuckles.

I am glad you found the problem. It’s satisfying to find an issue.

I have had good luck with hi torque roller replacement rollers. The stock ones break kinda easy. I receive no compensation from Hi torque rollers.

Lol ya now if you'd refocus the investigation to why skidoo went away from putting a c clip to hold the roller pins in to apparently using a magical unbreakable bond to hold them in I'd appreciate that. Btw how do you get the bolts out besides putting a half inch breaker bar on it? Or is the c clip now tucked underneath so I have to pull the bearing to get the back of the clutch off?

"unbreakable bond" I wish I had that problem this time; as this is usually the case. Anyone else have these roll pins fail. This is the carnage of the roller bolt falling into the primary last weekend on an 18' - 1200km....
