I purchased a 2019 skidoo G4 600R 154 last year and absolutely love this this sled it is a blast to ride and just so fun. I was thinking of taking it and making it a 165 2.5 track. Couple questions to do this im thinking I would just need to get rails, hifax, and new skidoo gen $ 2.5 track everything else would just swap over. Am I missing anything here? Also im wondering if this would take away from the fun of the little 600. I know you can buy the 154 in a 3inch track so I was thinking power shouldnt be a problem for a 165 2.5 track. I know buying a 850 is the easy way to go but im just getting older and dont really need all that power of 850 I just sold my 18 175 850 as it was a crazy go anywhere sled. Any thoughts on this would be great. Thanks

I would guess cost wise you will end up close to the same price as trading it in, or selling it and buying a 165. Guessing it would also need some clutching and gearing; which just keeps bumping up the cost.

Not worth it for the work involved when you can find the sled you want out of the box.

You cant get a 600R with any track bigger than a 154 is why I was thinking of making it a 165. I guess I should just look at going with a 850 again. I just really like the 600 new motor.

Would I need to change the gearing the chain case? Is there anything needed to be changed in clutching or is the clutches the same? I think this would be a fun little project while waiting for snow. Thanks for all the help.
