Anyone else notice it to be extra oily around the top of the cylinders, valves, etc. on their 850's? This is my 19, if I remember my 17 was the same. cant pinpoint where it is coming from

My 17 was leaking from the oil pump and i had a huge mess of oil in belly pan below clutch that i noticed. I never took the hood off as very noticable in the clutch area.

Took to dealer and was warranty work for new seals and a couple other parts i cant recall.

^^^^ Yup what he said ^^^^

It's a bit of a pain in the a$$ because you're technically supposed to have the RAVE positions set on BUDS once you disturb them.

i disagree, Most of these sleds look like that from almost new. Something else going on here. I guess it still could be the seals just means they are faulty from the factory

You are correct, Im hoping the updated seals will correct this problem, because mine leaked right from new.
In the past changing the seals did not help, my dealer told me BRP upgraded the seals. I just had mine changed in sept. Time will tell I spose.

Mine was actually not as bad as the pic, but there was oil always laying in the plastic trough.

I've seen two motors that had a similar amount of oil around them both were rave seals. It's more or less the only place it could be coming from. If it was the y pipe gasket or the doughnut the mess would likely be larger and above and below the y pipe. If the rave valve oil lines were leaking the oil would be cleaner.

Mine was like this and had the rave seals replaced under warranty which was good! Had to laugh when the dealer told me the condition could be avoided by not making sudden throttle changes... particularly chopping the throttle quickly. Turns out trying to do this riding trees results in an increase in the number of bumpers you have to replace... ha ha!
