Picking up a new 2019 Summit SP 165 tomorrow and dealer of course wants to sell me spare belt. Have read the 531 has been updated to a 571, the spare the dealer wants to sell me is the 531. To those who have used both, has there been a real world difference between the two?

just refuse the 531 and ask for the 571. the 571 has a higher thermal threshold.

as a spare, if the price is right, its perfectly fine. if its the same price then wait for the 571

When I picked up my new '19 it had the old belt on it, and a new belt for spare. I asked for them to change the old out as well for the new one and they said "Don't worry about it" so I didn't... ran the old belt all season and didn't even pull a cord. I wouldn't be afraid to run the old belt.

My buddy is running a 391 on his turbo 850. No blown belts. Only 1 on his 17.

the 600rs belt is good for a NA setup... when running it on my turbo, it 'hour-glassed' in about 1500km. did it work yes and I liked the whole shot on it. but the torque of a turbo is really hard on soft belts.

The difference in the 531 and the 571 very small.
My apologies, I see you are the same fellow that posted about the 850 sag. Congrats on your new whip for this coming season. I love my 19, very fun sled to ride.
The 571 is a more expensive belt, to buy over the 531. I am running the 571, as I mentioned my buddy is running the old 391 belts on his turbo, also a 19.
IMO the belt on the 850 was not the problem with the belt blowing complaint.

The only difference in the 531 to 571 is there is more rubber. This allows for a better grab. It will hold rpms better and last longer. Either will work well. The 571 is worth the extra in my opinion. The difference is the same from 391 to 531 more rubber same compound. Cheers Dave
More rubber how? Wider or taller profile?

Yep, If I remember right the dimensions of the belt are in-fact different between the two.

as the belt gets taller it gets a bit wider, so both.
If you're belt height is adjusted properly it should be fine. Can't see why you would have to.
