My 165 3" is starting to show signs of wear. A few lugs are ripped vertically or have chunks missing. I'm quite disappointed with the durability of this track and would like to run something different once the track is totally done.

I've heard that its possible to replace with a 174" from a T3 with a driver swap. Just wondering if anyone has done this, or know what's involved as far as which drivers are needed, offset axle, or anything else?

Well I was under the impression a 163 would be too short for the stock rails leaving no room for adjustment. If its true a 163 would work I would rather go that route...

There is only a inch difference in the length, If im not mistaken, I was told Mountain Magic has done this mod before.

The 174 T3 Track fits on the 175 rails. I'm sure the same would be for the 163 on the 165. You need to change drivers, you could go with stock drivers or powder freaks would get my vote.

Will the avid drivers be bigger in diameter than the stock drivers, or are they the same, just with different amounts of teeth

They should be one tooth more, same diameter but back to a 3.0 pitch of the T3.

Hagmanmod1 was running a 3.2. Like it in December conditions. Felt it was softer than the stock t3 track, and bent over in spring cleaning conditions, not that we’re running 3”+ tracks for there spring snow attributes.
I now have 3600km on my t3 and have two missing lugs. I think they were loosened up from rocks stumps, then delaminate the track when they blow off with speed. These single ply tracks are a bit scary to look at with out the rubber on them. I also had one of the first batch of 3” challengers when they came out in the late 2000s. Lost over 8 paddles on that track over the winter, couldn’t get warranty on that one if it makes you guys feel better.
