I had a 14 xm doo that was just like that ... couldn't be trusted. I was thinking of a new cat because of the great reports and very little troubles.

Well Mr. Nobrakes they are a really good sled when you have a good one. :)

Everything is like that i’ve had no issues with my 15 T3, getting into trucks i’ve had a 02 durmax that was awesome then got a 08 F350 it was a total lemon then then this 17 duramax with no issues.
In regards to dealers there are some that don’t work with you and there are others that work to try to get it warrantied. It’s ultimately up to the manufacturers.

All dealers i talked to and Cat published info I have says 7 but I'll take 8s, even better. Just need chain case guard. Good trade for drop and roll and covered with Cat cash.

Only Alpha is 7 due to 3.5 pitch track.
All other MCs are 8s.

I wonder if the cat track is a true 3” track, or the drop and roll is more than doos?? Doo is using a 6t as you know and its a true 3” lug.

I do remember guys trying the 8t 3.0 pitch on the T3 and if I remember right the increased exposure of the driver caused the drive shaft to bend easier.

There is always exposure to drivers on drop and roll, a tradeoff for the better attack angle.
If doo is supposed to be a d&r it as a lousy attach angle.
Thinking the Cat will have more exposure though to axle bending with the loading of a hit in the centre of the drive shaft where driver is located. The hit will have to be very centered though as the track can flex on either side of the driver unlike a dual driver stiff track.
Hmmmmm time will tell if the driveshaft is strong enough.
Can't be any worse than the 08 doo driveshaft disaster. Those failed without a hit.
I prefer my chances on the drop and roll Cat to the longterm consiquences of 6 tooth drivers and piano string tight tracks. Those issues are starting to surface after only 2 years. And how much hp does doo waste on that tight track 4-5hp?
How wide are the lugs on a doo and how wide is the belt......every body fibs a bit.
I don't have an Alpha track to measure yet for lug depth......6 loooong months away.

Same thing happened to me, they wouldn't even submit a claim. Just read me the script in their warranty system, sounds like only thing that covers track is if a idler fails and damages the track.
yep tracks have gotten ridiculously expensive
