I heard there has been a further revamp to the new clutch cover. Rumor is that it has been modified to include "ice compartments". You can buy BRP brand ice and fill these compartments to aid in clutch cooling. All warranty is null and void if BRP brand ice is not used. When questioned about the product, head of BRP product development commented "Yeah we could have had our engineers get to the root of the problem and just put better clutches on that dont create heat to begin with, but the bandaid approach will allow us to sell more belts and BRP brand CVT cooling ice."

SkiDoo's are built in Canada and Polaris and Cats are built in the USA. Look at the 2 governments? Which one do you think is the more green friendly?
Exactly, different standards in Canada, being a Canadian made compared to USA
Maybe the skidoo is louder?
The EPA considers noise a type of pollution now. KTM even puts crappy street half-knobbies on their EXC street legal dirtbikes to reduce knobby noise during EPA sound testing (or that’s what they say anyway)
The foam, the under side of the hood, all the covers are for sound
Unfortunately it traps heat, gets wet and adds weight e.c.t

I say bs on the epa excuse. Why then does Polaris or Cat not have the same setup of enclosing the hood and building a large obtrusive airbox that allows no airflow.
Look up what recreation vehicles are subject to for max noise between Canada and the USA

Or should I google that for you??

I tried googling to find out the noise emission data for off road vehicles between the 2 countries. I got a headache trying to find a number. What I did find is Canadian manufacturers have to meet a certain number to get the sticker. US manufacturers have to meet their number to get the sticker. Manufacturers from other countries can ship into Canada as long as they have met the magic noise number of their home country. Now whether we are higher or lower I have no idea? I am not sifting through pages and pages of legal mumbo jumbo to try and find out. Lol. Maybe someone else has the patience?

Yes can you please show me where in regulations where Doo has to build a 3ft long airbox and Polaris can build one like a small lunchpail. Show me that imports do not have to meet the same standards.

As much as I favor removal of the clutch plastic finding a place to store a belt aside from tunnel bags is challenging.
