Difference between 2017 and 2018 G4- 165

I’m in the market for a new G4 and wondering if there is a noticeable difference between the two years.
All I have been able to find is that 2018 added Shot and made some clutching refinements.

Different injector harnesses, 17 had issues, 18 totally different harness

18s are lots better, just my observation

I've got one of each and from my understanding the primary clutching is the same on the '18 (finned secondary on the '18), gearing was changed, and a different belt. Bulkhead reinforcing on the '18. The updates were done on the '17 and I don't notice a whole lot of difference.

Correct, sorry my bad I was referring to the cooling fins.

Cooling find on inside sheave on primary as well on 18s..

Talking with DJ joey from backshift.. He mentioned that guys that installed the fans on there 17s would see close to 100f comming out with a heat gun after a good pull, now see on there 18s next to nothing.. He said what ever changes doo did with fins has really helped in getting heat out..

i do know in my riding, my left boot can actually get hot to the touch after a good pull, and I cut the bottom of the belt guard off.. A lot heat getting pumped out of there
