2017 850 just quit.

2107 850 with Electric start and aux led lights.

I was following a couple buddies as they both got stuck in front of me. I swerved to the side and had to drop the sled on its side to avoid a tree. No impact and I shut the sled off. Once I got the sled back upright it wouldn't start. Actually it wouldn't do anything. Usually when I press the start button, the LED auxiliary light would come on and the dash screen display lit up as well. Now it does neither and doesn't crank the engine. We checked the crust of 4 fuses on the right side under the panel and we tried unplugging the kill switch. Still nothing. We removed the hood and check the wiring connections that could be reached. Still nothing. I jumped the starter solenoid and the engine would crank but not fire so we know the battery is good.
Earlier in the day I did get the check key beeps several times but each time it cleared when I disconnected and retried the key. I didn't think too much of this as every sled in our group has done that many times swell.

I'm hoping my dealer will have some ideas tomorrow but in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas I can look into before I spend the $$$ to fly the sled off the mountain?

Look under your dash where your DESS post is.

The wiring harness for that can become disconnected.

I’ve seen this happen before. You should be able to teach under and click it back on. It’s the most pleasant click you’ll hear followed by the sound of your sled running again ;)

must be something with the dess post if it was beeping check key
i have never heard it beeping for the check key on my 15 xm with the RF dess ball

There was an older post were a usb/12v adapter was screwing up the DESS

This sled has two aux led's and the usb in the glove box. Dealer says they could be the cause of the "interference" with the DESS but the sled should still start.

Thanks Sideways, i'm gonna try this on Feb 9th when I go back to Valemount lol. I hope they don't get 15 feet of snow before then.

You were right about it being this harness but it wasnt unclipped, it was completely broken. There is absolutely no damage to the exterior of the sled, or indication of any impact whatsoever. IMG_1052.jpg
