Two weeks ago I got out with Eric, (easy smoke)manger at the Vernon store and he brought out a demo 800 mountain cat and a side winder, got to try either one out and liked them both, they tried the 850 as well..

i had thought the sidewinder had good track speed, and handled very well, never missed a beat, could of maybe had a longer track in the deep we had, the 800 shot quick out of the snow, and was very easy to maneuver, maybe a little to much, need more seat time, maybe a 174 like bakers..

I heard cat is comming out with some real rank stuff real soon, want to see it perform, could be a color swap

They were just about broke, Textron bought them, very deep pockets.

Design ideas that were shelved in recent years shouldn't have a problem get funding now.

They should really advertise this better.

LIMITED WARRANTY of course. Hey where are all the oil whiners it clearly states you have to run Yamalube. I was told on the net that all oil is the same and that manufactures oil is no different than off the shelf flavour of the month. Hmmm Doo recommends XPS oil specifically for their engines and its pages of arguments and backlash.

Did you turn your oil pump down yet?

When I had the carb 800's I turned my pump up from stock settings, so why would I turn my 850 down? I'm ok with extra oil, I dont buy $500 wraps and complain about a little bit of oil usage. Oh and for the Yammie warranty you have to have the shop do your oil change at their specified intervals, not to fun hauling that porker around eh...

My '18 850 Renegade started to smoke terrible at about 900 miles. Used a full tank of oil in 93 miles. Dealer hooked it to BUDS, couldn't find anything. filled it Sunday, went 13 miles and burned more than a quart. Dropped it back at dealer Sunday. Haven't heard anything yet. My 16 ZR has about 2700 miles and have went through 1 belt at 2375 miles. Thinking I made a huge mistake buying this Doo...

After break in, they get closer to what the Xm gets. But yes they drink oil during break in, this is a good thing in my books

What is the average fuel/oil ratio guys are seeing? Are we just hearing about the worst case oil burners? Anyone seeing reasonable fuel/oil ratios? So far the numbers being posted are absolutely pathetic and embarrassing for BRP.

I don't have exact numbers or quantities but I have not seen the big numbers that the "nay-sayers" are talking about. I am pretty sure that our G4's (we have/had 3 of them) are on parr with the T3 and the XM's.

My 2018 is nowhere near as good as my 2015 T3. A jug of oil only lasts me three (ish) days riding. I've spent a small fortune on oil this year. I could go two days on a tank with the XM (not on purpose), wouldn't even dream about trying that now.

Oh now really you nay-sayer!
You belong to a fairly large but in denial club!

My 18 850 I just sold plowed 13 jugs of oil in 1800 km. I’m now riding my 16 freeride for the rest of the season and it uses half or less of the oil in the same km.
My new alpha cat will use 200 ml a day. Can’t wait. One belt all year and I won’t have to set my deflection 2 times a day.
