We don’t hear much about the bulkheads or belt issues from 2017. Have things improved on the 18’s.

The only problem I have had is moisture in the kill switch. The big red button won't stay up and the switch needs to be thawed after riding the pow and freezing in the cold weather. Also, the hand/thumber warmers also freeze from the pow/melting/freezing. I'm going to assume when we get out of this cold snap there won't be a problem.

Everything else is great. Just like our 2017's were. I really like the new scratchers.

About 260 miles on mine. Only problems so far, the permanent grin and the stretched arms... oh and it likes trees.

500kms mostly tight trees, some WOT, some deep, some trails, 75% skis in the air.. 154-2.5. Figured a belt should have been toast, but all good so far and it did survive a pretty nasty tree hit.

Ain't broke nothing yet... Still have 40% break in left but I've been rather hard on it when ever I get the chance... Towed a cranky 850 Turbo off the mountain yesterday 25km'ish back to the truck... See what the belt looks like when I get er in the shop tonite at home... The stock bumper actually took it like a champ but make no mistake, a dead 850 with a rider on it behind you feels like your driving with the brake half on even on a groomed trail!

Everything is working great. Belt looks good. 40% break in left. Thinking of removing the T motion. I'm finding this 175" is all over the place, as the snow goes from firm to soft, sled starts to dart side to side.

I’d say stick with it for at least 500km and then decide. I’m still all over the place but slowly figuring it out and that even with 154 turbo experience coming to the G4-154

Do you need to kinda "jump" on the high side board when starting into a side hill even in decent powder to get the sled on edge? Noticed this on the weekend...

Mine has been great. Stretched arms for 700 kms now. Blew a belt at 650 but I have been really hard on. See what the next one does.

i find the tarps trap heat at the end of the day. These sleds steam for quite a while after shutting them off. That Makes frost and freezes the buttons. Those who don’t tarp seem to have less issue with frozen buttons.

Mine are never tarped/covered. Loaded and brought home into a warm shop/garage. This time on the '18 it wasn't that warm in the garage and everything didn't melt. On the kill switch, it is moisture inside the switch that is preventing it from working.

Did they change the design from the 17's Doug or do you think you just have a bad switch?

we had a 1 hr loss the other morning as my buds kill switch was locked solid too. Had to pull it and wiggle it up with channel locks. Took forever. I wonder if a good squirt of wd40 would prevent this problem.?

Not at all. I can initiate and sidehill with a foot on each board, transferring weight and counter steering. The problem arises when I'm on one board turning or sidehilling while going from tracks/firm snow to deep soft snow with moderate throttle. When hitting the deep, soft snow the sled does an instant 180 back down hill.

My kill switch was freezing too when I had it rotated down to avoid accidentally hitting it while climbing. It's good now that I rotated it towards at a slight angle up. Overall I LOVE my 175! Really like the removable snowflap as I can back up easily when stopped before hitting a tree, then just pin it and I'm off without getting stuck. My only two minor things are a rattle from the clutch cover pin (solved by putting fuel hose on pin) and my thumb is frozen as thumbwarmer on throttle is lukewarm even when bars are hot. I've found the clutching a little abrupt on engagement but otherwise pulling 8000 all day long on clicker 3 at 6000 to 7000 feet. She climbs amazing!

That’s great to hear there are no glaring issues so far. I might have to look at upgrading my XM. Are the front ends more controllable then on the XM. I had to add the heavier springs and snug up my limiter to bring it down. I heard the 174-175 have less transfer and can keep the front ends down.

I have had one that was like that before and I think it was the '17. Just a pain on the coldest of days.

I was able to use the heat from my hand to get it to lift up but it wouldn't click in the up position. Had to keep holding pulling the top of the switch up. Don't know if it was the vibration or the bar heat that eventually kept it up. It acted up all day and it would quit in awkward places. P*ssed me off and I eventually went to using the RAF every time I shut off the sled. So after sitting in the warm shop over night, it will click and hold in the on position.
