My shot doesn't work on my 2017? WTF

Haha. Started my sled for the first time this year on the 27th when it warmed up to -25 (after -35 day before). Not quite enough juice in the battery to turn over fast enough so I thought i would just give it a pull. About 30 seconds later I got the charger 
It fired right away and ran smoothly after stalling twice. On really cold mornings I doubt I would normally try to start it. Will be headed out in the next week or two so wanted to get it home from the farm.
That cold soaked 800 was more of a challenge than I felt like taking on and shot requires you pull start at the beginning of the day so probably wouldn't work for me. Where is that knotting supply store?

Why bother with Shot or e-start!! If you can’t pull a rope 1 maybe 2 feet, you may as well take up knitting...

I started the machine in the shop, let it run for 5 mins, turned it off outside the shop. Came back 45 mins later in -25C weather and capacitor still had enough power to run the starter
Take a few more SHOTS and try again. lol

I heard it was 1800$$ to add a shot to a pull start sled so I can just imagine the cost to repair this system when it fails in the future and it will fail therefore if you can't pull the rope one foot to ride knitting it should be......

i wish it would beep or something if it was going to work. had a couple times now where ive been holding and holding and then nothing......by then i could have pulled the cord lol. without the system making any noise like the electric start motor if its not going to work you wouldnt know. other than that totally loving mine!

$750,electic start is $600. Mine has worked great thus far. Although haven't tested it in -25 plus weather. Pull start has never not started any doo Ive owned in sub zero temps, so why would Shot start be any different? You have to pull it once for first start of the day anyways. But I've never owned electric start. This I like, with not much added weight.

Used SHOT for past 3 days. Pull rope first thing in the morning, used SHOT every other start afterwards. Let it sit at the cabin in -5C weather for a bit more than an hour and started without issue.
Last night, while unloading trailer I let the machine run for a minute. Turned off, went to restart with SHOT and it fired right up. It was -30.
Biggiest thing I dislike on it is how finicky the button on the handlebars is. If you don't put it the right way, it seems to not want to make contact. Seems like a cheaply made button.

Its definitely the button. Seems like mine with estart has a delayed reaction when you push it as well. You really need to push down as well.

Call your dealer and see what it cost to install a shot onto a none ordered unit

Don't think it's going to be a part you add on unless you snow check a sled ordered with it. I guess you will be using your shoulder for starting power!

If all these shots are shot now just wait till your off warrenty..... save the last shot for yourself
Mine dies super early sometimes. I'm not sure if its the heat from the cooker can or what? I have 3M heat reflective tape on it (shot). I can't see it getting too hot, there is a good air gap between the two. My friends shot still worked, as we sat for lunch for about 25mins +/-.

my shot start capacitor exploded inside the housing on the weekend. electrical fire smoke billowing out of the pull cord area. sled died wouldnt run. unplugged the capacitor and it fired right up and ran all weekend. see what the dealer says but it was a little scary was getting ready to yank it out of the trailer i thought she was gona burn the whole works down!
