Just got back from a three day trip to Revy with my 2018 850 Summit X 154 T3. Last trip I ran stock but this trip I had the DJ clutch kit installed. Wow what a difference this clutch kit makes to the overall performance of this sled.
To compare what this clutch kit did we had a stock 2017 850 Summit X 154 T3 with all updates done to it. Pulling the same hill with the same rider we saw 5-6kmph increase in track speed with the DJ kit in the 2018 that was still in breakin mode. The engagement is down to about 3600rpm from the stock 4000 rpm. This proved very helpful when going forward and backwards to get unstuck without spinning the track.
The backshift and engine braking was much stronger plus the belt and clutch temps were good. We rode these sleds hard without stopping to let the clutches cool and on previous models we would have started to pull cords and destroy the belts from the heat. To my surprise the belt still had the green color and clutches were hot but not to the point where belt damage would occur.
If you are looking for improved performance, better back shift and lower engagement this is the clutch kit for you. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Contact Joe at https://www.ibackshift.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=84

Re: DJ Clutch kit Ricks

Mods please change title to Rocks

I've had at least 5 DJ kits on a variety of platforms. I've have a variety of rooster as well, i think 3. Both are awesome and truely support your needs. This time it's DJ for me as I have followed his progress last season of testing and it was frustrating for him as i see things and I did not have a 850.

My 850 -154-2.5. yes 2.5 is here. DJ kit will be ordered when I hear back. Pretty sure this 850 with the 50 will put a smile-grin on the old mans face.

Re: DJ Clutch kit Ricks

This thing with Joe is he rides and learns by testing and having others test for him. If you want real world results you can't go wrong with a DJ clutch kit.
Up until about 3 weeks ago Joe didn't have kits available for the 850 but he does now and is busy getting orders out. Just email him with your info and he will get you fixed up.
You do need a bunch of different clutch tools to work on the G4 P-drive but the secondary is the same as the XM's.
