MTNTK Blow hole

A buddy of mine works for a Polaris dealer in Idaho. Apparently these things are popular down there. Is it a good idea? I have an '18 Freeride on route and with all the belt issues I've heard about thinking it may help keep temps down a bit. I was a little worried that it faces slightly forward but I'm told it blows so hard there is no way snow will be able to go in there.

Hard to say if how much it helps but it must help a little. A little pricey though. My brother has one on his xm and hasn't had any issues with snow. Also has had good belt life.

i'd just build your own. There is a thread on here somewhere about it.

I'm going to run one on my new 850. I figure that yes they are expensive but so is a bent kit. And if you run a wrap the blowhole is a better idea.

They work great. One thing though it can give you no start issues once in awhile as the fan motor screws with the RF key on the sled. You either have to in plug it or in some cases just pop the side panel open so it's further away from the key and it won't screw with the signals to start.

skidoo does not require a blow hole........polaris sleds need all kinds of stuff to make them run right. Put gas in and ride it. drill out clutch cover on every spot you can drill...... or junk cover entirely if you dont need belt holder.

Customer service a side, I'd be pissed if I opened a package and saw a piece like that. Surprised they're not embarrassed to ship that

cropped blowhole.jpg still waiting on the new one getting shipped snail mail from them to the dealership i got it from - that was on sept 29th - soooo choked - i wish i woulda just built my own now - the engineering behind it is crap as far as i'm concerned - it requires you to completely annihilate your belt cover

useless waste of money

we did a test with 3 850s last year
1- completely stock
2- some clutching and gearing
3- some clutching, gearing, venting and blow hole

did a few pulls back to back and guess what, all 3 belts were the same temp lol

The only thing the blowhole is good for is giving you grief when you start your sled (or drying your goggles)

Post a pic of the inside fan setup. I'd like to build my own, especially after seeing that welding. Is it a computer fan inside the tube?

Kingcat162, we would appreciate if you told the whole story about this. You were sent a product that was not suppose to get into a box, which I explained to you. The man responsible was let go from our company 6 months ago. Unfortunately there is still inventory that we cannot track or find in any way until someone brings it to our attention. You called and and we immediately found a new replacement and at your request sent it to the dealer you purchased it from. It was received 2 days ago by that dealer. We got it to you in the most efficient way we know how to. We apologized then and still do for the fact that you got an inferior product. We hope you will change your attitude towards this as things happen sometimes out of any persons control. The picture you posted is not representative of any of the products we sell and we take great pride in the fit, finish, and function of our products. We do not believe we will never make a mistake, but we do our very best to ensure that we make as few as possible. In the event of a mistake being made we always hope that the customer will notify us first and give us the chance to make it right. I don't know of any reputable company that just wants to stick it to the customer. Just patiently explain the situation calmly and without being hot and most any will do everything they can to make things work out. Good word travels fast and Bad word travels even faster. I hope you will make the time to put the correct pictures up and at least give us a fair shot. We want everyone to feel like they got a great product and are proud it is installed on their sled. shawn@mtntkperformance.com
