So I'm coming off a 2015 summit x 154 and going to a summit x 175. I never packed fuel and usually rode 60-70 km in mountains a day. I'm hoping to get away with not packing fuel on the new sled but just curious about how people made out on the 850?

Drinks more when pinned. Try and not open up the extra injectors to get good milage. Use the liters/100km feature

pinned im getting 80-90km

not pinned 140-150km

I got about the same, definatly acceptable mileage for the performance of the motor.
Burns a bit more than an 800 but you get a lot more performance IMO.
Burns more oil than the 800 but again definatly acceptable.

Like all sleds....WOT burns more but returns a bigger smile.

Never said all 850 are bad.
There are a lot of good ones and you can not deny the performance side of the sled.

The guy asked a fuel use question and you do get a lot of grins per gallon.

comparing the 850 with 165 to a 2016 174 both with 3" paddles, riding in the trees, both with very similar driving style at the end of the day the fuel is very close
both sleds started season in break in mode and finished break in at much the same time and were very comparable for the season, the very little difference could be driving style or when boost injectors are put into play

Not sure what all the fuss is about. My sled has run awesome. 1100km this winter, no issues. original belt. Couldn't be happier.

My dealer didn't have one issue with any 850 sleds they sold and they sold over 100 total with spring check + in season SP's. Don't believe all the crap you read on the internet, especially all the guys that hate Ski Doo on Snow and Mud that clogged every 850 thread with sh#t.

My 850 165 3" uses slightly more than my 800 174, on a couple deep snow occasions this year I had to add fuel at 60-70k but that was all wot. On a normal day 80-90k no problem.

Ya mine ran perfect all winter. Over 2800 km and only blew one belt. Did some clutching and gearing and got it running really good.

As for fuel mileage it was the same as everyone is saying. A little more than my 800's and oil seemed a little more too. I had to put my extra fuel in a couple of times but I think it is because the 850's have a smaller gas tank. Skidoo says it doesnt matter because the usable fuel is supposed to be the same but I dont believe them. It would always take the same to refill them after a days riding, its just that the 850 would be empty but the 800,s would still have some left.
