I got in contact with David from Rooster Built to test out one of their clutch kits and to be honest I couldn't be happier. The kit includes two springs one for primary and one for secondary , a new helix and aswell 15 grams overall weight to the primary , my brother has the same sled but without the clutch kit so we could run side by side tests to see how much better the clutch kit made my sled, snow conditions were nice and deep lots of long pulls and tree slaying , we pulled clutch covers off and right away you could tell the difference in temperature , my brothers was boiling the water mine was not even close to the same temperature, I could touch mine with my hands , also the sled back shifts way smoother and maintains rpm much better , we found a nice big hill and put them to the test and the track speed was by far superior to the stock 850 clutching ! Just thought I would give my review on these clutch kits I couldn't be happier ! I was really getting sick of burning belts every couple rides !

I went through 3 Belts before , sled currently has 900km's on it , so a lot , I would always let them cool etc , Only had this kit out for a day but I punished it all day , and would for sure have toasted a belt , didn't let it cool down just kept riding it .

Lol .. 3 belts in 900 ? thats not a lot :)

I think by 900 I was into 8-9 belts ... currently at 12

I've done some changes to my clutching and gearing .. my last belt lasted a lot longer than the other poor sons of b*tches.. but it still blew ... I think the gearing is what actually helped the belt temps ... the clutching changes got my track speed back .. she pulls hard and is super snappy... very happy with the way it rides.. maybe you and I can do some back to back testing with a heat gun ;)

making clutching changes sure makes these things feel better and keeps the temps down a little .. but ya still gonna blow'em belts !

the answer is in clutch alignment and possibly the new discovery of the fixed sheave run out issue... my belt is ALWAYS hotter than both my clutches .. what does that tell ya ?

I have. Put it on my 2013 xm and started blowing belts lol.

I'm sure he's corrected the issue since and his new setups are much better.

Did you get ramps ?

I had the same issues with my 14, I worked with rooster built and got the issues resolved.
12 belts? I'd hope you would have had it in the shop trying to get that issue resolved before the 12th belt?

You signature is true and hilarious.

His sled has been in the shop more than at his house!

I put a Roosterbuilt kit in a buddies sled this past fall, and he has had it out a couple of times already. Wow what a difference in that sled, it pulls alot harder than it did before and the sled does not fall on its face like I noticed with alot of G4's ive ridden.
He never blew a belt with the stock clutching, and hasnt blown one with the RB clutching.
